Matt was an All-State runner in high school, took up triathlons in his 20s, and has coached runners and triathletes for over 2 decades. He holds a certification in sports nutrition, has consulted for numerous sports nutrition companies, and provides peer reviews for sports nutrition journals. Matt is also an acclaimed endurance sportswriter whose work appears regularly in Men’s Journal, Outside, and other publications. His many books include the bestselling Racing Weight and Iron War, which was nominated for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year award. A lifelong endurance athlete, he speaks frequently at events throughout the United States and internationally.
