Guest Profile:
Keira D’Amato is an American runner and currently the fastest American female marathoner. Keira started early in her life with sports and cross-country running at the collegiate level. She had been a 4-time All-American champion and 11-time Patriot-league champion. To lose the baby weight, she started running again in 2013. Keira ran once again as she wanted a goal to keep herself motivated. After running 3:49 in her debut marathon in 2013, she ran 2:44 at Grandma’s Marathon in 2018 and 2:34:55 at the 2019 Berlin Marathon. Such talent notwithstanding, the notion that D’Amato would progress from 2:35 to 2:19 in a little over two years to break one of the most long-standing records in American distance running was improbable.
