Jim Vance is an elite endurance sports coach, author, and sports technology and training consultant in San Diego, California. He is the personal coach of 2016 US Olympic triathlete Ben Kanute and the author of the famous book ‘Run with Power’. Guest Profile:
Jim Vance is the Head Coach for Formula Endurance; a USA Triathlon High-Performance Team focused on developing top junior triathletes as part of the Olympic Pipeline. Jim is also the Head Varsity Swim Coach at Coronado High School and has coached elite National Champions, World Championship podium performances, countless Ironman World Championship qualifiers, and been a training consultant for US Olympians. In February of 2016, Jim released the book Triathlon 2.0, which teaches athletes how to use technological training tools like power meters and GPS, HR monitors to better coach themselves for long course triathlon racing, based on their age, gender and goals. In May of 2016, he released his second book, Run With Power, the first book to tackle using the new technology of power meters for running effectively. Jim continues to work with new companies bringing technology to the sporting world and athletes worldwide, at all different levels, from beginner to elite, in swimming, cycling, running, and triathlon.
