Lack of sleep, feeling tired and sore muscles might seem unrelated, but these are actually the underlying symptoms of fatigue that often go unaddressed. Running is a high-impact sport, and without adequate recovery and proper nutrition, it can cause fatigue, which can ultimately affect your training. Depending on its nature, there are two types of fatigue — acute and chronic. While acute fatigue can last for several hours to an entire day, chronic fatigue can last for several days and manifests as lingering exhaustion.
